CALM: Lost Hours Walk 2019

“As time goes backwards, we’re walking forwards to campaign against feeling rubbish, against struggling in silence, against being alone, against living miserably.”

On October 26th Director of Guy Cry Club Ben Driver is taking part in the CALM Lost Hours Walk, a 20 mile walk around London to raise awareness of the ever prevalent issue of suicide. Ben will be joining a group of wonderful humans from Ipswich whose enthusiasm for encouraging a greater public understanding of suicide prevention is nothing short of inspirational. Team LoveOne have set up a JustGiving page for anyone who is able to give their support. The money of which goes straight to CALM. Click on the image below to head to their fundraising page.

“16 people take their own life every day, leaving behind thousands of friends, family and colleagues. On the one day we are given extra time, we walk for all those for whom there wasn’t enough.”

Ben’s own reasons for taking part in the walk echo far too many others; knowing those who have taken their own lives, having stop start conversations with friends trying to explain their feelings and in some cases desire to no longer be alive, and not knowing how to process all of that emotional information.

It cannot be stressed enough how important CALM’s mission is. The Lost Hours Walk is just one moment where we can all come together to highlight the issues that affect us all in some way.
