The Cold Water Felixstowe Dip
Happy to be supporting MANUP? as they host a cold water dip in solidarity of men’s mental health. On Sunday 25th April we will gather at Felixstowe Pier and together run into the ocean for an uplifting cold water experience. A simple act to not only bring men together and publicly show support of men’s mental health but also a nod to the technique of cold water therapy, having cold showers/baths to help realign mindset and encourage a healthier mental health.
The idea came about after Dan Somers from MANUP? spoke with Sam and Jake about their mental health journeys. They needed a distraction from the cycle of negative thinking, something to break their psychological behaviours and patterns. Discovering cold water therapy Sam took part in a 30 day challenge to take a cold shower every day for a month. Realising the benefits this had for him and his mental health, he took it one step further. And, with the sea on his doorstep set about going for an early morning dip in the cold British sea every day for a year.
In response to this MANUP? wanted to show their support to Sam and Jake, asking a group of guys and anyone else who wishes to take part, to join in with their morning dip. And i will be of course be right there with them.
Sunday 25th April, 7:30am, Felixstowe Pier, Suffolk UK.
Covid-19 safety guidelines will be in place for this event.
