Freedom Exhibition Details:

Suffolk Pride presents a summer exhibition with the theme of ‘freedom’. We invite you to submit work that responds to this theme - whatever it means to you.

  • “What does freedom mean to you as a black trans woman?”

  • “What might freedom look like to a queer person with a disability?”

  • “A reflection on the lack of freedom in this present moment.”

  • “Explorations of freedom and queerness during the pandemic.”

  • “Celebrating where we are, honouring where we’ve come from and where we’ve got left to go.”

We encourage Suffolk based LGBTQ+ artists to submit their work, new or old, but will also accept submissions from allies. Suffolk Pride is committed to representing at least 40% of artists that are BIPOC. You will be asked to complete a short equality and diversity monitoring form upon submission.

Please submit photos of your work by Friday 16th July to events@suffolkpride.org.uk

All submissions will be included in the online exhibition.

A selection of work will be included in the physical exhibition in the Whistler Gallery at DanceEast, Jerwood DanceHouse. (This work will have the opportunity to be sold with 15% profits going to Suffolk Pride.)

We have the capacity to include most mediums of art, from digital to sculpture, and are open to suggestions on how your work could sit in the space or online.
