Queer Insomnia II - and its precursor Queer Insomnia (coloured pencil on paper, 40x62") - is an exploration of the idea of my mental state as I regulate my thoughts about how I present myself to the world, and how I am constantly expected to justify my identity and validity as a queer man to society in general. The illustration of the machine that is hovering over me is a symbolic depiction of the "whirling" thoughts that sometimes keep me up at night.
